Can international missionaries or non-US citizens apply?

Yes, MDM serves missionaries globally -- you do not need to be a US citizen or based in the United States to apply. However, there are important requirements and limitations for international applicants:

• US donor base required: MDM processes donations from US donors and issues US tax-deductible receipts. If your entire donor base is outside the United States, MDM may not bethe right fit. You need at least some US-based donors to make the relationship viable.
• Payment to non-US bank accounts: MDM can disburse funds internationally via Wise, wire transfer, or PayPal. Contact payments@modernday.org for details on international payment setup.
• Documentation requirements: If you plan to receive funds while physically in the United States, you will need appropriate visa or work authorization documentation (such as an R1 religious worker visa). MDM cannot disburse US wages without proper documentation.

Note: Canadian donors cannot receive US tax receipts from MDM. Only US-based donors qualify for MDM's tax-deductible giving receipts.
