I submitted a missionary application. What happens next?

Once your application is received, our communications team will reach out within 1-3 business day to confirm receipt and begin the process. Here is what to expect:

• Application acknowledgment: You will receive a confirmation email from info@modernday.org introducing your communications contact and asking any clarifying questions about your application.
• Spiritual covering verification: We will contact your listed spiritual covering (pastor or ministry leader) to confirm your relationship and accountability. We will let you know once we hear back.
• Background check: Once your application is under review, you will receive an email from Checkr (our background check partner) to complete your background check online. There is no fee to you. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
• Leadership approval: Once your spiritual covering is confirmed and your background check is clear, your application is submitted to our leadership team for review. This typically takes a few business days.
• Approval notification: If approved, you will receive two emails -- an approval email from MDM and a financial onboarding email from our finance team at support@modernday.org. Check your spam folder for both or add modernday.org to your email whitelist settings.
